Future of RMA is key regional issue for General Assembly

Manoli Loupassi, R-Richmond, will try again to reach an accord that gives Chesterfield and Henrico counties equal representation with Richmond on what he envisions as a regional transportation authority for a metropolitan area that often has resisted cross-jurisdictional cooperation on mass transit….

Loupassi was dismayed by a legislative luncheon in November with the mayor and members of the council, who spent the most time talking about legislation to prevent the swift execution of dogs suspected of killing the chickens now allowed in city neighborhoods.

“I didn’t hear a word about RMA or a transportation authority,” Loupassi said. “I heard about dogs and chickens. That’s kind of frustrating to me.” Link
